Team Richert & Co. Immobilien, representing Frankfurter Polo Club e.V., wins the Bentley Dresden Trophy 2026. The 9th International German Arena Polo Championship at Dresden-Seidnitz Racecourse concludes with a thrilling final.

Three days of top-class sport, excitement, emotion and exclusive events have come to an end for the organisers and guests of the Bentley Dresden Trophy – 9th International German Arena Polo Championship. From 11 to 13 September 2026, Dresden-Seidnitz Racecourse became a meeting point for the international polo community.

Eight international polo teams, each consisting of three players, travelled to Dresden to compete in the official German Arena Polo Championship of the German Polo Association (Deutscher Polo Verband e.V.). In ideal polo weather, the teams delivered exciting chukkas throughout all three days of the tournament, thrilling the many spectators with fast-paced, high-level arena polo.

For the championship, a professional polo arena was specially constructed at the historic Dresden-Seidnitz Racecourse, allowing visitors to experience the sport at close quarters. But the Bentley Dresden Trophy was much more than a major sporting event: an exclusive social programme made the weekend a special experience for players, sponsors, partners and guests alike.

Opening at the Gewandhaus Dresden

The opening evening on Thursday provided a stylish start to the weekend. International players and guests were welcomed at the Gewandhaus Dresden. First Mayor and Mayor for Sport Jan Donhauser, title sponsor Sibylle Thomas-Göbelbecker, organiser Gerd Göbelbecker, Matteo Böhme and Sporting Director Thomas Strunck welcomed the players who had travelled from Germany and Argentina and set the stage for the championship weekend ahead.

Soul Kitchen Creates a Fantastic Atmosphere

The Bentley Dresden Trophy also had plenty to offer on the musical side. On Friday evening, during the “Great Argentinian Asado”, Munich-based live band Soul Kitchen created a fantastic atmosphere and kept guests dancing late into the evening.

Saturday evening was dedicated to the Dresscode White Party. With a sold-out venue, celebrations continued into the early hours of the morning. Elegant white outfits, great music and the unique atmosphere of the polo weekend made the party another highlight of the Bentley
Dresden Trophy.

The Voice of Polo Meets The Polo Speaker

Throughout all three tournament days, spectators were expertly and entertainingly guided through the sporting action.

With “The Voice of Polo” Jan Erik Franck and “The Polo Speaker” Jan Zavazal behind the microphones, two experienced voices of international polo provided expert commentary. They not only shared in-depth information about the matches but also conveyed the fascination, speed and dynamic nature of arena polo to the spectators.

Thrilling Final for the German Championship Title

Following the opening of the final day by Alexander Dierks, President of the Saxon State Parliament, the stage was set for the big showdown on Sunday afternoon.

In the Gold Cup final, Team Richert & Co. Immobilien (Frankfurter Polo Club e.V.) faced Team Bentley Dresden (Hamburger Polo Club e.V.). From the opening whistle, the match developed into an exciting and evenly contested encounter. Both teams fought for every ball and every inch of
the arena.

In the end, Team Richert & Co. Immobilien prevailed 9–7 over Team Bentley Dresden.

With this victory, Uwe Scherer, Henri Grimme and Lukas Sdrenka secured the title and were crowned the 2026 German Arena Polo Champions of the German
Polo Association.

The joy of winning the championship was immense. After three intense days of competition, Team Richert & Co. Immobilien delivered when it mattered most and lifted the coveted Bentley Dresden Trophy.

Special Awards

Following the final, umpire Thomas Winter presented further awards.

Henri Grimme was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the championship.

The Best Playing Pony award went to Maravilla, played by Moritz Mahns.

A Successful Second Edition

With the second edition of the Bentley Dresden Trophy, the organisers once again succeeded in establishing the International German Arena Polo Championship as an exceptional sporting and social event in Dresden.

The combination of high-level international polo, the unique setting of Dresden-Seidnitz Racecourse, an exclusive social programme and the professional presentation of the sport made the weekend a truly special experience.

Lord Mayor Dirk Hilbert, Dresden-Seidnitz Racecourse President Holger Scholze, Sibylle Thomas-Göbelbecker, organiser Gerd Göbelbecker, Matteo Böhme and Sporting Director Thomas Strunck subsequently reflected positively on the second edition of the event and bid farewell to the players and teams.

The Bentley Dresden Trophy 2026 once again demonstrated the potential of combining international polo, exclusive hospitality and an extraordinary event venue.
