En el contexto de la 101° Asamblea General Ordinaria de la AAP, en la cual se procedió a la presentación de la Memoria y Balance del ejercicio 2023, desde PoloHUB hablamos con Delfin Uranga, presidente de la Asociación Argentina de Polo, sobre el cierre de la temporada 2023 y ya pensando en el comienzo de la temporada alta 2024.
En este sentido, el presidente se refirió y analizó: “un poco el cierre del año pasado fue un cierre muy positivo en términos de que fue un año de transición y de cambios. Por un lado, hicimos la inversión de poner a cero de vuelta a la cancha 1 de Palermo, hicimos la cancha 2, la alineamos prácticamente a cero”.
Por otro lado, Delfin Uranga destaco estas inversiones en “un escenario en la Argentina que fue cambiante. Y la verdad es que dentro de ese contexto, la Asiación de Polo reaccionó muy bien y tuvo un superávit bastante importante a pesar del contexto”, detalló.
“Al mismo tiempo se pudo cumplir con creces los objetivos que se habían propuesto para el polo federal, para el polo amateur, para el polo de chicos, para el polo de mujeres, para el polo de juveniles, que es una categoría nueva que estamos desarrollando y queremos que crezca. Y, por supuesto, para todo lo que es el polo de alto hándicap”.
Además, el Presidente de la Asociación Argentina de Polo habló pensando ya en la temporada alta 2024: “Un poco las perspectivas a futuro es que queremos crecer en el desarrollo del polo internacional. Nos parece que hay que volver a desarrollar ese producto, tanto en Argentina como en nuestra selección, participando del juego alrededor del mundo. Así que tenemos nuevos desafíos para el 2024-2025 y una organización de esta Triple Corona que alteró, en cierta forma, los órdenes. Hurlingham primero, Tortugas después, y el Abierto de Palermo para cerrar la temporada. Así que, muy contentos con cómo fue la temporada y cómo fue la asamblea también”, concluyó.
Finalmente en esta nueva asamblea de la AAP atendiendo a la presentación de los clubes, que elevaron la nómina de candidatos para la renovación de cargos en el Consejo Directivo, resultaron reelectos aquellos que finalizaban su mandato y se incorporaron Martín Sirvent, Nicolás Ojea Quintana, Juan Manuel Echeverz y el Cnl. Cab. Jorge A. Laplacette.

On the other hand, Delfin Uranga highlighted these investments in “a scenario in Argentina that was changing. And the truth is that within that context, Polo Asiation reacted very well and had a fairly significant surplus despite the context,” he explained.
“At the same time, the objectives that had been proposed for the federal pole were more than met. for amateur polo, for boys’ polo, for women’s polo, for youth polo, which is a new category that we are developing and we want it to grow. And, of course, for everything that is high handicap polo.”
Furthermore, the president of the Argentine Polo Association spoke thinking about the 2024 high season: a bit of future perspectives are that we want to grow in the development of international polo. It seems to us that we have to develop this product again, both in Argentina and in our team, participating in the game around the world. So we have new challenges for 2024-2025 and an organization of this triple crown that altered, in a certain way, the orders. A Hurlingham first, a Tortugas later, and a Palermo Open to close the season. So, very happy with how the season went, how the assembly went as well,” he concluded.
