El Villa a Sesta Polo & Equestrian Club, conocido internacionalmente como VAS, se encuentra en el corazón de la Toscana, Italia. Hablamos con Eduardo Menéndez quien está un año más participando de la temporada italiana.
Cómo se preparan para la temporada europea en Villa a Sesta?
Estamos muy bien. Ya pasaron las prácticas de los fines de semana y arrancamos el fin de semana pasado que ya se jugó la primera ocho goles y seguimos todos los fines de semana de acá hasta fin de septiembre con polo, así que estamos bien.
Cuáles van a ser las copas más importantes del club en la temporada?
Nuestras copas más importantes van a ser la Kings Polo y el Palio di Siena que tenemos más o menos unos ocho equipos por torneo y la verdad que viene bien la temporada por ahora estamos muy contentos y arrancó ya el calorcito, las canchas se van poniendo mejores, así que por suerte vamos para adelante.
Es uno de los mejores destinos para el polo europeo, como ves el crecimiento del club?
El objetivo de Villa a Sesta es siempre hacer algo más, algo nuevo, crecer en las instalaciones, tratar de traer más equipos y que todo el mundo la pase lo mejor posible. Nuestra idea siempre es ser un destino de polo acá en Italia, en la Toscana y en Europa. Ese es un poco el objetivo siempre de Villa a Sesta.
Que significa poder jugar con toda la familia en el club?
Y jugar con la familia, la verdad que es un placer, ¿no? Es un deporte de familia. El polo es lo más lindo que tiene. Y poder compartirlo con ellos es algo que… Hay que agradecerle a Dios que se pueda hacer.
Villa a Sesta está situada en un entorno impresionante rodeado de viñedos, bosques y campos. El club es el corazón de la Toscana y se encuentra en un borgo medieval. Desde aquí, la vista se pierde en la vegetación sin límites. VAS está conectado al mundo, pero al mismo tiempo, parece estar aislado en una especie de puerta del tiempo.

How do you prepare for the European season in Villa a Sesta?
We are very well. The weekend practices have already passed and we started last weekend that the first eight goals were already played and we continue every weekend here until the end of September with polo, so we are fine.
What are the club’s most important cups in the season?
Our most important cups are going to be the Kings Polo and the Palio di Siena that we have about eight teams per tournament and the truth is that the season is good for now we are very happy and the heat has already started, the courts are getting better, so luckily we are going forward.
It is one of the best destinations for European polo, how do you see the growth of the club?
The goal of Villa a Sesta is always to do something more, something new, grow in the facilities, try to bring more equipment and that everyone has the best time possible. Our idea is always to be a polo destination here in Italy, in Tuscany and in Europe. That’s a bit of the goal always from Villa to Sesta.
What does it mean to be able to play with the whole family in the club?
And playing with the family, the truth is that it’s a pleasure, isn’t it? It’s a family sport. Polo is the cutest thing it has. And being able to share it with them is something that… We have to thank God that it can be done.
Villa a Sesta is located in an impressive environment surrounded by vineyards, forests and fields. The club is the heart of Tuscany and is located in a medieval village. From here, the view is lost in the vegetation without limits. VAS is connected to the world, but at the same time, it seems to be isolated in a kind of door of time.
