British Horse Feeds Enjoy the Big Buzz at Bramham

A thrilling weekend of eventing action at Bramham International Horse Trials saw Pippa Funnell pick up her fourth Bramham title in four decades with a win in the CCI4*-L on her only ride for the event, MCS Maverick. Bubby Upton produced the magic, taking the Under 25 CCI4*-L title on the thirteen-year-old gelding Magic Roundabout IV. In the Defender CCI4*-S, Selina Miles and Mr & Mrs Rucker’s Cooley Snapchat took the honours with more than two penalties over the second placed combination.

It wasn’t all about the main competition though – the prizes started early on with the British Horse Feeds sponsored Fibre Beet horse inspections. In the long format classes, the first horse inspection took place on Wednesday before dressage commenced on Thursday. The horses were also required to trot up in front of a ground jury for a second horse inspection on Sunday before the showjumping phase. Harry Meade and Cavalier Crystal took top spot in the ‘Best Turned Out’ for the CCI4*-L class.

Branca Gebbie, British Horse Feeds  Business & Trade Manager remarked “there were so many wonderfully turned-out horses, with the riders looking equally as smart! It was a tough choice, but Harry’s horse had been turned out impeccably, with exceptional quarter markings and the mare looked in great condition. Harry’s groom Jess told me afterwards, that the quarter markings had all been painstakingly done by hand!”

Harry and thirteen-year-old mare Cavalier Crystal finished the competition in fifth place after completing the three phases with only 1.2 cross country time penalties to add to their dressage score of 34.4.

On the Saturday Richard Howley seized victory in the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet Grade C Qualifier in the Main Ring with Kowla securing a ticket to HOYS.

Along with sponsoring the horse inspections, the Speedi-Beet Cross Country fence and Grade C Showjumping, British Horse Feeds shared a stand with natural supplement sister company, The Golden Paste Company which saw lots of returning and new customers finding out more about how their Turmeric based supplements could help keep their horse and pet happy and healthy naturally, as well as take  advantage of show offers. Many visitors to the horse trials also enjoyed the opportunity to meet Brand Ambassador Meg Elphick on the stand as well as the opportunity to pick up samples at the gazebo by the Speedi-Beet cross country fence out on course.
