Luego de un torneo con partidos de mucha intensidad, chukkers suplementarios y nuevas participaciones dentro de la cancha, la Queens Cup tuvo su gran final este domingo 14 de junio en el Guards Polo Club en Inglaterra.
Luego de dos semifinales muy intensas, los jugadores de Balanz Capital y Aureus lograron enfrentarse cara a cara. El compañerismo y el talento que se vio en ambos equipos, tanto en el torneo como en la gran final, fue de alto nivel. El equipo de Camilo “Jeta” Castagnola se mantuvo firme durante todo el partido, llevando una diferencia que le permitía estar un poco más tranquilo que el equipo contrario. Arrancaron 2-2 pero a partir del segundo chukker el equipo de Balanz sacó su ventaja.
Fue la primera participación de Balanz Capital en la Queens Cup. La organización del equipo está en manos del Argentino Claudio Porcel, CEO de Grupo Balanz, y se mantuvo invicto todo el torneo, mostrando siempre una actuación sobresaliente. “Esto es un sueño, estoy muy feliz”, declaró Porcel.
El jugador argentino de 18 años, Lorenzo Chavanne, tuvo un juego para destacar, y de la misma manera sucedió en la gran final, marcando 8 goles y 51 en total en todos los partidos, quedando como el máximo goleador del torneo. La dupla entre Lorenzo y Jeta llamaba la atención, con una conexión en el juego que daba gusto mirar y convirtiendo 15 de los 17 goles ganadores. Hace unos meses atrás, jugaron juntos para el equipo de Pilot en Estados Unidos y ganaron la copa de oro y el abierto.
El segundo de los hermanos Castagnola, con 23 años, y nombrado como MVP del partido,se consagró campeón de la copa de la reina por segunda vez. Fue en 2020 cuando tuvo el honor de levantar la copa por primera vez.
El único del equipo que no era argentino era el jugador Ned Hine, que anotó 2 goles y supo acompañar el juego constantemente. “Estoy muy contento, no podría haber jugado con mejores compañeros”, decía Hine.
Por su parte, Aureus venía de ganarle al equipo de Poroto Cambiaso en la semifinal, lo que les daba esperanzas para obtener esta victoria y confiar en la dinámica del equipo. Durante el juego se destacaron los jugadores argentinos Diego Cavanagh con 3 goles y Teodor Lacau con 2, y el Inglés Mark Tomlinson con 2, pero no lograron ponerse a la altura del equipo ganador.
Más allá de ver el talento de los jugadores, la destreza y velocidad de los caballos siempre es la llave para que estos jugadores se puedan lucir. En esta oportunidad quien obtuvo el reconocimiento a mejor yegua del partido fue “Machitos Mamushka” jugada por Camilo Castagnola. Otro título que queda para el polo y la cría argentina.
El Guards polo club volvió a vivir momentos espectaculares de polo, fanáticos y familias. Fue un torneo que dio show con buen polo, caballos de primera y dejó ver el talento de las nuevas generaciones de este deporte.

After a tournament filled with high-intensity matches, extra chukkers, and exciting new faces on the field, the 2026 Queen’s Cup reached its highly anticipated final on Sunday, June 14, at Guards Polo Club in England.
Following two thrilling semi-finals, Balanz Capital and Aureus met in the championship match. Both teams displayed remarkable teamwork and outstanding talent throughout the tournament and in the final itself. Camilo “Jeta” Castagnola’s side remained in control for most of the match, building a lead that allowed them to play with greater confidence than their opponents. After a balanced opening that ended 2-2, Balanz Capital pulled ahead in the second chukker and never looked back.
This marked Balanz Capital’s first-ever appearance in the Queen’s Cup. Managed by Argentine businessman Claudio Porcel, CEO of Grupo Balanz, the team completed an unbeaten campaign, consistently delivering exceptional performances throughout the tournament.
“This is a dream come true. I’m incredibly happy,” said Porcel after the victory.
Eighteen-year-old Argentine Lorenzo Chavanne was one of the tournament’s standout performers. He scored eight goals in the final and finished with 51 goals overall, making him the tournament’s top scorer. His partnership with Jeta Castagnola became one of the highlights of the competition, as their chemistry on the field was a pleasure to watch. Together they accounted for 15 of Balanz Capital’s 17 goals in the final. Earlier this year, the pair also played together for Pilot in the United States, winning both the USPA Gold Cup and the U.S. Open.
