Polo & Picnic was born in May 2021 when Barbara and Tomasz (Tomek) Tokarczyk realized that too many friends and family were coming to watch their games and tournaments. They decided to open the club to a wider audience and create something special for this growing crowd. What began as a way to share polo beyond their inner circle quickly evolved into one of Poland’s most distinctive lifestyle events. Today, Polo & Picnic takes place once a month during the season, welcoming around 600 guests per edition, with tickets often selling out days in advance.

For the Tokarczyks, the event is about more than just polo. “We wanted to create an experience that introduces guests not only to the sport itself, but also to the atmosphere and lifestyle around it,” Barbara explains. Promoting polo in Poland is a central mission. Although the sport has historical roots in the country, it remains relatively niche. Polo & Picnic aims to make it accessible, understandable, and enjoyable for a wider audience. Guests also discover Argentine Polo Ponies through TT Breeding, a program established in 2015 that focuses on horses known for their calmness, intelligence, and character.

What sets Polo & Picnic apart from other European polo events is its location. Warsaw Polo Club, founded in 2007, lies just 40 minutes from the city center — a rare advantage in Europe, where polo clubs are often far removed from urban life. “Our strength is the combination of vision and execution,” says Barbara. Tomasz, founder and patron of the club, built the venue from the ground up, constantly developing it with creativity and attention to detail. Barbara, with her background in public relations, brings expertise in communication and branding. Together, they have shaped an event that feels elegant yet relaxed, welcoming, and deeply connected to animals — even dogs are part of the picnic.

The experience they want guests to take away is simple: escape. “We want people to feel like they’ve entered another world for a day,” Barbara says. For many visitors, Polo & Picnic is their first real contact with polo, horses, and the lifestyle surrounding the sport. The setting — green fields, forests, birdsong, great food, and the presence of Argentine Polo Ponies — creates a unique atmosphere. Guests often describe the feeling of calm and discovery as the most memorable part of their visit.

Polo & Picnic has become more than an event; it is a gateway to polo in Poland, blending tradition with modern lifestyle, and offering a space where sport, nature, and community meet.
