Roma Polo Club is proud to announce that our President, Dr. Stefano Giansanti, has been elected to the Council of Administration of the International Polo Federation (FIP), reaffirming the club’s historic commitment to the global development of polo.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Roma Polo Club and the FIP—two institutions united by a shared mission: to promote the sport of polo through values of friendship, fairness, and passion.
Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Giansanti shared:
“Since 2010, I’ve been part of the FIP world thanks to my dear friend Daniel Garcia, who invited me to help organize the Ambassadors Cup in Rome. He introduced me to a community of people who not only love polo, but who also share a deep respect for the values that transcend borders—sportsmanship, generosity, and human connection. My appointment as FIP Ambassador came after a moment that truly embodied this spirit. During a tournament in Rome, a player was injured, and it was instinctive for me to ensure he received the best care possible as a guest of our club. A few months later, I received a letter from the FIP announcing my nomination as Ambassador. This new role on the Council is another step in supporting our sport and its values. It’s an opportunity to strengthen the bridge between local clubs and international institutions, and to show the world what makes polo so special: the friendships we build, the fairness we uphold, and the passion we share.”
Roma Polo Club has long served as a cultural and sporting ambassador for Italy, hosting international tournaments and fostering connections across continents. Through its close relationship with the FIP, the club continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of polo—supporting young players, celebrating tradition, and promoting excellence both on and off the field.
Together, Roma Polo Club and the FIP remain committed to elevating polo’s global presence, ensuring that the sport’s values are not only preserved but actively lived and shared.
