“Aspern ya se siente como mi casa”, dice Mili Sánchez, quien llegó unos días antes al club para aclimatarse, probar caballos y compartir tiempo con sus compañeras de equipo. “Es un club familiar, todo de primera, te hacen sentir muy cómoda. Me preparo con muchas ganas, porque este año está muy competitivo. Tuve la suerte de jugarlo el año pasado también, y es un torneo que se pone realmente muy competitivo: hay buenas jugadoras, vienen organizadas… y las alemanas son bravas, juegan muy muy bien.”
Mili no duda en remarcar lo especial que es este torneo para ella: “Es un torneo que trato de tener siempre en el calendario europeo. Me hacen sentir como en casa, las canchas están buenas, el club está bueno… la verdad, siempre es un placer poder estar acá.”
Una temporada intensa y global
“Jugué la Nations Cup en Chantilly hace una semana, perdimos la final. Ahora estoy en Aspen, la semana que viene tengo un torneo femenino en Berlín. Después me voy 12 días a casa, a Argentina, a despejar un poco la cabeza. Y vuelvo el 30 de julio a Saint-Tropez, donde jugamos otro torneo femenino. Después vienen Deauville y el Open de France, así que tengo polo hasta fines de septiembre más o menos.”
El auge del polo femenino
“El polo femenino está creciendo abismalmente, no solo en Europa, también en Argentina y en todos lados. Ha tomado un auge impresionante. Yo tengo la suerte de poder estar todo el invierno jugando afuera, y más que nada torneos femeninos. Eso antes no se podía, y hoy sí. Hay buen nivel, cada vez más competitivo, y muchas chicas nuevas que están organizadas. Está buenísimo.”
Mirando hacia Argentina
“Después de Europa, arranca la temporada argentina. Así que también tengo la cabeza un poco en eso, tratando de organizar todo y estar en todos lados.”

“Aspern already feels like home,” says Mili Sánchez, who arrived a few days early to settle in, test horses, and spend time with her teammates. “It’s a family club, top-notch in every way, and they make you feel super comfortable. I’m preparing with a lot of excitement, trying to arrive in the best shape possible. This year is very competitive. I was lucky to play last year too, and it’s a tournament that gets really intense—great players, well-organized teams… and the Germans are tough. They play really, really well.”
Mili highlights how special this tournament is for her: “It’s one I always try to include in my European calendar. Like I said, it feels like home, they make me feel very welcome. It’s competitive, the fields are great, and the club is fantastic. Honestly, it’s always a pleasure to be here.”
A packed and global season
“I played the Nations Cup in Chantilly last week—we lost the final. Now I’m in Aspen, next week I have a women’s tournament in Berlin. Then I’m heading home to Argentina for 12 days to clear my head a bit. I’ll be back on July 30th in Saint-Tropez for another women’s tournament, followed by Deauville and the Open de France. So I’ll be playing until the end of September.”
The rise of women’s polo
“Women’s polo is growing massively—not just in Europe, but in Argentina and everywhere. It’s booming. I’m lucky to spend the whole winter playing abroad, mostly in women’s tournaments. That’s something worth highlighting, because it wasn’t possible before. Now it is, and not only is there a lot going on, but the level is high and getting better. More and more girls are joining, well-organized and competitive. It’s amazing.”
Eyes on Argentina
“After Europe, the Argentine season kicks off. So I’m already thinking about that too, trying to organize everything and be everywhere I need to be.”

“Aspern fühlt sich schon wie mein Zuhause an,” sagt Mili Sánchez, die ein paar Tage früher angereist ist, um sich einzuleben, Pferde zu testen und Zeit mit ihren Teamkolleginnen zu verbringen. “Es ist ein familiärer Club, alles ist erstklassig, und man fühlt sich hier sehr wohl. Ich bereite mich mit viel Motivation vor und versuche, in bestmöglicher Form anzukommen. Dieses Jahr ist das Niveau sehr hoch. Ich hatte letztes Jahr das Glück, auch dabei zu sein, und es ist ein Turnier, das wirklich intensiv wird – tolle Spielerinnen, gut organisierte Teams… und die Deutschen sind stark. Sie spielen wirklich sehr gut.”
Mili betont, wie besonders dieses Turnier für sie ist: “Es ist ein Turnier, das ich immer in meinen europäischen Kalender aufnehmen möchte. Wie gesagt, es fühlt sich wie Zuhause an, man wird hier sehr herzlich empfangen. Es ist anspruchsvoll, die Plätze sind super, und der Club ist großartig. Es ist wirklich immer ein Vergnügen, hier zu sein.”
Eine intensive und internationale Saison
