The Moroccan national polo team delivered a commanding 14–6 win over the United States on June 7, 2025, in the opening match of the prestigious Newport International Series, held at the exclusive Newport Polo Club in Rhode Island.
This victory marks Morocco’s second consecutive triumph over the U.S. in less than a month, following their dominant performance at the Mohammed VI International Polo Trophy. Facing off against top-tier teams from Scotland, Italy, England, and Australia, the Moroccan side made a bold statement in the international arena.

Morocco’s rising profile in global polo continues to gain momentum, with this win underlining the country’s growing competitiveness and strategic development in the sport.
Present at the match was Youssef Amrani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United States, who praised the team’s achievement as a symbol of national sporting excellence. He emphasized that polo is more than a competitive pursuit—it is a pillar of Morocco’s sports diplomacy, aligned with King Mohammed VI’s vision for international outreach and cultural dialogue.

“Morocco’s participation in such an international tournament goes beyond sports—it represents a diplomatic commitment and a cultural ambassador for the Kingdom,” said Ambassador Amrani after the match.
