Mark Gillespie, a retired Army officer and West Point graduate, assumed the role of Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee for the United States Polo Association (USPA) in October 2020.

He has an impressive background, having served 20 years in the Army, including commanding armor and cavalry units during the Cold War in Germany.

Gillespie’s vision for the committee includes initiatives such as involving active duty polo players from each service branch, recruiting new players, and supporting women’s military polo endeavors.

He also aims to expand domestic and international military polo events and explore avenues of sponsorship to support these activities.

Additionally, he has participated in friendly polo matches to raise funds for therapeutic riding programs for wounded warriors.
