El tradicional club de Alemania recibirá la Copa de Oro femenina del 5 de junio al 7 del mismo mes y contará con la presencia de grandes jugadoras como Mili Sanchez y Marianela Castagnola.
El polo en Alemania continua en continuo crecimiento y el Aspern Polo Club es uno de los tradicionales clubes de aquel país que impulsa el crecimiento del mismo. En este contexto, hablamos con Christopher Kirsch, dueño de Aspern y organizador de muchos torneos de polo en Alemania.
“Nos estamos preparando para el femenino que se juega del 5 al 7 de julio, la primera vez que tenemos al femenino acá en Aspern, lugar que fue sede del campeonato europeo Rolex European Championship en 2008 y tuvimos muchísimos torneos de alto handicap en Alemania”, nos contó Christopher.
“Y ahora tenemos algo nuevo, la primera vez, ahora en el año 2024, que vamos a tener la Copa Femenina de Oro. Van a participar cuatro equipos femeninos y van a venir algunas de las mejores jugadoras del mundo, como Marianela Castagnola, Milagros Sánchez. Además va a estar jugando Hanna Grill una de las principales jugadoras alemanas”, agregó.
En cuanto al crecimiento del Polo Femenino en Alemania Christopher explayó: “La idea de hacer el polo femenino ahora también acá en Hamburgo es que está creciendo el polo femenino mucho en Alemania, como Alemania es un lugar muy fuerte, lo que es la equitación, salto, siempre medallas de oro hace años”.
“Hoy te das cuenta que ahora tenemos ya casi un 40% de los jugadores en Alemania son mujeres. Y cada vez hay más y más mujeres que están jugando y eso vemos en todo el mundo, que el polo femenino está creciendo fuerte y por eso decimos, bueno, vamos a hacer el primer polo femenino acá en Kudaspan de Hamburgo para reforzar este crecimiento del polo de mujeres”.
Christopher nos cuenta como se dará la modalidad del torneo: “En la Copa de Oro vamos a tener viernes, sábado y domingo. Para eso vamos a hacer vueltas en Hamburgo para que conozcan, como dicen acá, la ciudad más linda de Alemania”.
Además y sobre el Gut Aspern polo club destacó: “Hamburgo tiene el polo club más antiguo de Europa continental de 1898 y hoy en día todos los partidos se juegan en Gut Aspern. El club cuenta con dos canchas y seguimos pujando el polo. Además, contamos con la ventaja que tenemos el aeropuerto a solamente 20/25 minutos del club y es un aeropuerto bastante grande internacional”.
De esta manera, el club se prepara para recibir el torneo el comienza de la temporada de polo en Alemania.

Aspern prepares to receive women’s polo

Regarding the growth of Women’s Polo in Germany Christopher explained: “The idea of doing women’s polo now also here in Hamburg is that women’s polo is growing a lot in Germany, as Germany is a very strong place, what is horse riding, jump, always gold medals years ago.”
“Today you realize that now we have almost 40% of the players in Germany are women. And there are more and more women who are playing and we see that all over the world, that women’s polo is growing strongly and that is why we say, well, we are going to do the first women’s polo here in Kudaspan in Hamburg to reinforce this growth of the women’s polo.
Christopher tells us how the tournament will take place: “In the Gold Cup we are going to have Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For that, we are going to tour Hamburg so that they can get to know, as they say here, the most beautiful city in Germany.”
Furthermore, about the Gut Aspern polo club he highlighted: “Hamburg has the oldest polo club in continental Europe from 1898 and today all matches are played at Gut Aspern. The club has two fields and we continue to promote polo. In addition, we have the advantage that we have the airport only 20/25 minutes from the club and it is a fairly large international airport.”
